  • About Golden Eagle Golf Club

Surrounded by sweeping views of some of the most scenic backdrops BC has to offer, Golden Eagle Golf Club is home to 36 holes of golf, a stunning banquet space and a massive patio famous for its sunsets and authentic Forno pizza. This hidden gem welcomes all and offers fantastic value in local golf and events!

36 holes of natural beauty and possibly the best value in BC golf!

Located only 45 minutes from Vancouver, in beautiful Pitt Meadows, BC, the Golden Eagle Golf Club is situated among the spectacular Thompson Mountains. We have two 18 hole Championship golf courses that make for 36 fun and challenging holes split between our North and South Golf Courses.

The 18-hole South Course at Golden Eagle Golf Club is one half of a spectacular 36-hole facility in Pitt Meadows, British Columbia. Located just 15 minutes from the town of Maple Ridge and less than an hour east of Vancouver, the club boasts a glorious mountain backdrop setting and is known throughout the province for being one of the best values in British Columbia golf.

Compared to its adjacent sister North Course, the South Course at Golden Eagle Golf Club is generally considered the easier of the two. Many golfers prefer it because it is tranquil and located away from the road. Once you set out for the round you will be immersed in nature. Wildlife abounds, as you stand a good chance of seeing?deer, eagles and other raptors, and even bears.

The South Course at Golden Eagle Golf Club is short and sporty and fun with plenty of risk/reward options. While you don't need power to shoot a good score, accuracy and precision are essential.

The par-70 routing is a 36-34 configuration with the back nine featuring three par 3s (including back-to-back par 3s) and a lone par 5. Four sets of tee markers (plus a hybrid alternative) provide distance options from 4,741 yards up to 6,095 yards. Choosing wisely can be critical to your enjoyment.

The fairways are narrow and water enters the fray on almost every hole on the South Course at Golden Eagle Golf Club. Despite the abundance of water, everyone should be able to handle the challenges,?as there are only?a few forced carries. Most players find the greens quite tricky the putting surfaces are a strength of the course though they are somewhat generous compared to the rest of the playing field.

Since the layout is predominantly flat, the South Course is easy to walk. Be advised that if you want to warm up before your round, practice facilities at Golden Eagle Golf Club are limited to just a putting green.

With its two eighteens, the club hosts many tournaments and outings. Clubhouse facilities include a pro shop, banquet space, a restaurant and bar, and an outdoor area with rousing sunset views. The restaurant s pub-style dishes are all prepared in house. For an exciting day of golf in a spectacular setting about 30 miles east of Vancouver, don t miss out on a tee time on the sporty South Course at Golden Eagle Golf Club.

  • About the IMG Junior Worlds

In 1968, the San Diego Junior Golf Association founded the Junior World Golf Championship to connect young golfers from all parts of the world. Not only was our goal to provide youth with a premier golf experience, but we dreamed that the championship would build greater understanding among people of different cultures and values.

In its inaugural year, the event attracted 475 junior golfers from seven countries and 20 states. Today, the tournament has grown to 1250 participants, representing 56 countries and 42 states. The IMG Academy Junior World Golf Championships is now the largest international event in the world and is unique for its international representation and cultural diversity.

It all began in February 1968 when John W Brown,  A.S. "Lou" Smith, and Norrie West decided the San Diego Junior Golf Association would host the very first Junior World Golf Championship tournament. The three had dreamed of organizing a tournament where juniors from all parts of the world could come together to play golf and share in cultural exchange.

The following is taken from the 1968 Junior World Program created by Norrie West:

The idea behind the Junior World Golf Championships is simply "YOUTH." The San Diego County Junior Golf Association is founded on the principle of serving young people, in the hope that by doing so today's youth will have a better chance of creating the world we all want. The Junior World tournament is an international extension of that principle. We believe that by bringing together young people from all parts of the world and all parts of our nation, we are helping to bring about greater understanding among people of differing cultures and values.
