The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) was founded in 2007 with the intention of providing junior golfers, boys and girls between the ages of 8-18, an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. The tour’s vision is to provide superb hospitality and make every event memorable. Currently the HJGT is the largest multi-day junior golf tour in the United States hosting more 2-day nationally ranked events than any other tour. The HJGT has been able to achieve this goal by running the most professional events and providing an exceptional value to all of our players and families over the last 17 years.
Based out of Orlando, FL, the HJGT administers events all across the country. In 2024, the HJGT will conduct events in Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, China and Canada. Juniors will compete in 1 of 6 divisions which are: Boys 16-18, Boys 14-15, Boys 11-13, Boys under 10, Girls 14-18, and Girls Under 13. The HJGT season is based on a calendar year and players earn points throughout the season towards year end honors beginning December 31, 2024.
In 1968, the San Diego Junior Golf Association founded the Junior World Golf Championship to connect young golfers from all parts of the world. Not only was our goal to provide youth with a premier golf experience, but we dreamed that the championship would build greater understanding among people of different cultures and values.
In its inaugural year, the event attracted 475 junior golfers from seven countries and 20 states. Today, the tournament has grown to 1250 participants, representing 56 countries and 42 states. The IMG Academy Junior World Golf Championships is now the largest international event in the world and is unique for its international representation and cultural diversity.
It all began in February 1968 when John W Brown, A.S. "Lou" Smith, and Norrie West decided the San Diego Junior Golf Association would host the very first Junior World Golf Championship tournament. The three had dreamed of organizing a tournament where juniors from all parts of the world could come together to play golf and share in cultural exchange.
The following is taken from the 1968 Junior World Program created by Norrie West:
The idea behind the Junior World Golf Championships is simply "YOUTH." The San Diego County Junior Golf Association is founded on the principle of serving young people, in the hope that by doing so today's youth will have a better chance of creating the world we all want. The Junior World tournament is an international extension of that principle. We believe that by bringing together young people from all parts of the world and all parts of our nation, we are helping to bring about greater understanding among people of differing cultures and values.

The Club at Bond Head offers two magnificent courses, designed by the renowned architectural firm of Hurdzan-Fry.
The South Course takes its inspiration from the links-style courses of Great Britain, and it has been ranked in the Score Top 100 and the list of the top 59 public courses in the nation. It features wide-open fairways, challenging well-placed bunkers, and fescue roughs. When the South Course opened in 2005, it was named “Best New Course in Canada” by Travel & Leisure Golf, and one of the “Top New Courses” by Golf Digest. The South Course is presided over by a palatial clubhouse and is also the site of a state-of-the-art driving range and teaching facility.
The parkland-style North Course opened the next season (2006) and was selected as the “Top Public Golf Course in the GTA” by the Toronto Star. It creates a completely different feel, with dramatic elevation changes, spectacular vistas, and small, undulating greens. Two of Ontario’s best golf courses on the same property, sharing a stunning clubhouse, creates arguably the best golfing experience in the GTA for quality, quantity, and variety.
The Club at Bond Head offers multi-course memberships and public golf – but also dining, charity events, corporate outings, weddings, tournaments, and meetings. Everyone is invited to experience the hospitality, service, cuisine, elegant surroundings, and attentive staff. The Clubhouse is open year-round for your special event.

Formerly known as the World Junior Golf Cup, the Euro Junior Golf Cup was created in 1998 by the Canadian Junior Golf Association. In its first years, the Euro Junior Golf Cup was a competition between the United States and Canada. Competition was held in St. Andrews, Scotland and played on the New Course and the Jubilee Courses. Both of these courses were part of the St. Andrews Trust.
As time past, Scotland was invited into the competition. With Scotland involved, the event was then conducted on some of the most historic courses around the home of golf in St. Andrews, Scotland each August.
The Euro Junior Golf Cup provides junior golfers with an opportunity to re-visit golf's history.
Three countries participate each year - Canada (Canadian Junior Golf Association), the United States (San Diego Junior Golf Association), and Scotland (Fife Golf Union).
The tournament takes on a unique format with the three teams competing in singles matches over three days to determine a winner for the John Clark Trophy.
Canadian participants, parents who may wish to come and coaches will be staying in St. Andrews, Scotland at the University of St. Andrews.
When the North America Cup was first born, it involved the Canadian Junior Golf Association and the Bermuda Golf Association. This relationship continued for many years when another worldly issue interrupted play. Bermuda then withdrew from the competition.
In 2022, the Canadian Junior Golf Association (CJGA) & the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) developed a partnership to enhance the international opportunities for junior golfers in both countries and continue the North America Cup. The North America Cup is unique to both Canada and the USA as it was the first international junior event to take on a Ryder Cup format.
Each year, the competition alternates in each others country.
Notable participants of this event include Rickie Fowler (2003) and Morgan Hoffmann (2005).
