  • About the Euro Junior Golf Cup

Formerly known as the World Junior Golf Cup, the Euro Junior Golf Cup was created in 1998 by the Canadian Junior Golf Association. In its first years, the Euro Junior Golf Cup was a competition between the United States and Canada. Competition was held in St. Andrews, Scotland and played on the New Course and the Jubilee Courses. Both of these courses were part of the St. Andrews Trust.

As time past, Scotland was invited into the competition. With Scotland involved, the event was then conducted on some of the most historic courses around the home of golf in St. Andrews, Scotland each August.

The Euro Junior Golf Cup provides junior golfers with an opportunity to re-visit golf's history.
Three countries participate each year - Canada (Canadian Junior Golf Association), the United States (San Diego Junior Golf Association), and Scotland (Fife Golf Union).

The tournament takes on a unique format with the three teams competing in singles matches over three days to determine a winner for the John Clark Trophy.

Canadian participants, parents who may wish to come and coaches will be staying in St. Andrews, Scotland at the University of St. Andrews.

  • About the North America Cup

When the North America Cup was first born, it involved the Canadian Junior Golf Association and the Bermuda Golf Association. This relationship continued for many years when another worldly issue interrupted play. Bermuda then withdrew from the competition.

In 2022, the Canadian Junior Golf Association (CJGA) & the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour (HJGT) developed a partnership to enhance the international opportunities for junior golfers in both countries and continue the North America Cup. The North America Cup is unique to both Canada and the USA as it was the first international junior event to take on a Ryder Cup format.

Each year, the competition alternates in each others country.

Notable participants of this event include Rickie Fowler (2003) and Morgan Hoffmann (2005).

  • About the IMG Junior Worlds Qualifier

In 1968, the San Diego Junior Golf Association founded the Junior World Golf Championship to connect young golfers from all parts of the world. Not only was our goal to provide youth with a premier golf experience, but we dreamed that the championship would build greater understanding among people of different cultures and values.

In its inaugural year, the event attracted 475 junior golfers from seven countries and 20 states. Today, the tournament has grown to 1250 participants, representing 56 countries and 42 states. The IMG Academy Junior World Golf Championships is now the largest international event in the world and is unique for its international representation and cultural diversity.

It all began in February 1968 when John W Brown,  A.S. "Lou" Smith, and Norrie West decided the San Diego Junior Golf Association would host the very first Junior World Golf Championship tournament. The three had dreamed of organizing a tournament where juniors from all parts of the world could come together to play golf and share in cultural exchange.

The following is taken from the 1968 Junior World Program created by Norrie West:

The idea behind the Junior World Golf Championships is simply "YOUTH." The San Diego County Junior Golf Association is founded on the principle of serving young people, in the hope that by doing so today's youth will have a better chance of creating the world we all want. The Junior World tournament is an international extension of that principle. We believe that by bringing together young people from all parts of the world and all parts of our nation, we are helping to bring about greater understanding among people of differing cultures and values.

In its inaugural year, the event attracted 475 junior golfers from seven countries and 20 states. Today, the tournament has grown to 1250 participants, representing 56 countries and 42 states. The IMG Academy Junior World Golf Championship is now the largest international event in the world, unique for its international representation and cultural diversity.
